Welcome to the class

This is where you can post your questions about English. Do feel free to post any question you like - whether or not it relates to the topics covered in class.

If you want to know the meaning or usage of a word of phrase, it is useful if you can give some kind of context, as in many cases meanings change depending on the situation.

Example: What does 'pick up' mean?
This is difficult to answer without some background.

Example: 'She managed to pick up a little Spanish during her time in Madrid'. What does 'pick up' mean? This is much easier to answer.
