Incorrect or non-standard usage, overuse etc
I have bread for my breakfast.
The problem
Hong Kong students often know only one word for the many kinds of bread-like products that are commonly eaten and sold in bakeries.
Bread is normally used to make sandwiches and toast, or is sometimes eaten with a meal. It can be rather boring on its own.
In any bakery, however, there are many other bread-like products which, although similar in their basic ingredients and way of cooking, are not called 'bread'.
For example, buns, rolls, croissants, and a variety of sweet breads generally referred to as 'pastries' - e.g. Danish pastry.
To see what these look like, try typing any of these words into Google and set the search for images - or go into a western bakery where the labels are in English.
